FAQ

Where are you located?

Our studio is located in an industrial area of North Hollywood. We have free unrestricted parking right out front, air conditioning, a bathroom, water and lots of snacks!

Do you travel for shoots?

Los Angeles keeps us super busy, so we currently do not shoot anywhere else. All headshot sessions are shot in our studio in North Hollywood. If requesting to shoot in a location other than our studio, please be aware that this impacts price and availability.

What are your health/safety protocols?

Joanna, Sophia and our makeup artists are all fully vaccinated. Our studio space is a very large open indoor/outdoor space with a lot of air flow and natural light flowing through. When you book a session, let us know if you prefer everyone mask up for you and we are comfortable doing that!

Can I bring a friend to my shoot?

We welcome one friend or family member if you would like moral support.  If you do bring someone, just make sure that whoever you bring is supportive and helpful and you are not nervous in front of them. We have an air-conditioned lobby with a couch if they want to wait for you there.

How far in advance should I reach out to schedule?

To ensure you're getting a date/time that works for your schedule and have plenty of time to prepare for your session, we recommend reaching out at least 4-6 weeks in advance to schedule a session. While we do book up far, if you are flexible, we get cancellations and openings frequently.

Do you shoot at night or on the weekends?

We keep pretty normal business hours, shooting Monday-Friday with shoots typically starting as early as 9:30am up to as late as 2:30pm. We do not shoot at night, as we use a mixture of natural and studio light. We will occasionally open up a Saturday shoot date for sessions.

Do you keep a cancellation list?

We do! The clients already scheduled with a deposit will be notified first of any cancellations we receive. First one to respond to the e-mail gets the spot! To join the cancellation list, you must have a scheduled shoot date with a security deposit down.

Do I have to use your makeup artist?

We don't require you to use our HMUA, but we do recommend it. We use the best; they have worked with us for a long time and they understand how our lighting affects makeup and how makeup should appear in headshots. If you don't want makeup, want to do it yourself, or choose to hire your own makeup artist, we reservee Wednesdays for our "no-makeup" days. We require you to arrive camera-ready, doing your own make-up or meeting with your make-up artist before arriving to the studio for your first look. Your makeup artist is welcome to come with you to do touch-ups in between looks, but you must arrive camera-ready for the 1st look if bringing an outside HMUA.

Can I bring my own makeup artist?

Sure! If you're handling your own hair and makeup, we ask that you set up your makeup with them before you arrive to the studio. You should be hair and makeup ready to shoot your first look upon arrival. Your MUA is welcome to come with you for touch-ups and transitions between different looks.

Should men get hair and makeup?

We always leave it up to the client to decide on their hair and makeup needs, but we recommend hair and makeup for men who have uneven skin tone, dark under eye circles, more problematic or uneven skin, a lot of hair, or if you plan to shave during the session.

Will you help me plan my looks?

We leave shoot preparation up to the client. When you book a session, we will send our pre-shoot info packet, which does offer a few suggestions for prepping looks and wardrobe. Once you arrive at the studio we look at your options and help decide which ones we think will work best. If you're struggling to prep your shoot, we always recommend checking in with your reps and/or acting community for help. People who know you and your work will be able to offer more help in this area. If you'd like help prepping your wardrobe, we have a few stylists we can recommend.

How long does a shoot take?

Shoot length depends on the number of looks you're shooting and if you're using our makeup artist or coming to the studio camera ready. Most shoots take about 2-3 hours max.

What are your children's rates?

For clients 13 and younger, please contact us for rates. We don't shoot kids under the age of 5.

Will my deposit go toward the cost of my session?

Yes! The non-refundable deposit goes toward the final cost of the session and you will settle your balance once we're done shooting.

Will I get my entire session?

Yes! We color correct your session and delete any blinky/blurry photos. You will receive an easy to download gallery link with all of your color-corrected photos within 7 business days of your shoot. Your gallery is available to share and use for 6 months after your session. Download the full gallery so that you can have access to all the images after the online gallery expires!

Do I get one free retouch with my session or one free retouch per look with my session?

You get one free retouch total of your choice with your session, regardless of how many looks you're shooting. We give you your entire session in high resolution Jpegs and we charge $40 if you want additional retouched images.
